History

In 1971, Norm and Joan Kruse, who were born and raised in Milwaukee, purchased their 80 acre farm way out in the Town of Jackson.  Here they raised their 4 children (Debbie, James, JoEllen and John).  Debbie had her 3rd birthday that first summer and received a lovely 3 year old pony she named Lollipop.  Mom and Dad each had a horse and there was one boarder.  More horses were added along the way.  Lollipop also became a mother.  More boarders filled the stalls and before you knew it, another barn was built to accommodate them all.  There are 20 horses now.  An indoor riding arena was added so the unpredictable weather wouldn't stop anyone from riding.  There is also a large outdoor arena and miles of trails through the pine woods and around the hay fields.  Joan and Norm are now grandparents of Abeni, Caleb, Olivia, Garett and Joey.  After 35 years (equal to 105 people years), Lollipop joined her other horse companions in horse heaven. She taught hundreds of people to ride and will always be fondly remembered.

All the animals used in our riding program have been with us for many years.  We also use some very trustworthy horses of our boarders.  These horses have been used as 4-H projects by our children and our boarders, in the show ring, at parades and to take leisurely trail rides.  They have become a part of our horse family.  You can see them in the July 4th parade in Cedarburg   or you might find them at one of the horse shows in Cedarburg during the summer.

Since all our horses and pony are people friendly we felt they would enjoy being used on a regular basis to teach more children and adults the basics of horsemanship.  This is how our summer riding program began.  The results have been very positive.  The riders and horses both enjoy the chance to be together.

Our mission is to provide a safe environment in which an individual may be introduced to basic horsemanship skills through ground work, grooming, saddling and riding.
